A Couple Cunning Cracks At Camping

January 23, 2013

Inspired by Henry and Alice: Into The Wild, we have offered survival tips and we have shared famous last words. Now we complete the hat trick with a handful of wisecracks from four self-styled comedians and one individual whose name for better or worse remains a mystery. They are listed below in no particular order because tension is a moot point when you’re sitting around the campfire after dusk.

“Camping is nature’s way of promoting the motel industry.”
— Dave Barry

“Some national parks have long waiting lists for camping reservations. When you have to wait a year to sleep next to a tree, something is wrong.”
— George Carlin

“Camping is the art of getting closer to nature while getting farther away from the nearest cold beverage, hot shower, and flush toilet.”
— Author Unknown

“Kneeling over a trickling mountain stream and pumping every ounce of water you use through a filter can really change your perception of turning on a faucet.”
— Eric Voorhis

“Camping is nature’s way of feeding mosquitoes.”
— Jerry Smith

Henry And Alice: Into The Wild runs from January 23 – February 10, 2013. Visit the Globe Theatre website for more details, cast information, and to purchase tickets.
